Three Handsome Fellas

I got all three boys to sit in front of the tree for a picture. Lewis was easy. It was getting the other two to stop moving for 2 seconds that was challenging. We put up the tree the day after Thanksgiving and Corey put some lights up outside on the gables last night. Carter has a Christmas program next week already, and both boys frequently ask me how many days it is until Christmas. They are also missing the snow. It only lasted a few days. This morning Owen said to me, "The day after this day it's going to snow, right?"

The Spitter

We've been getting a kick out of Lewis' new talent!

A Visit with Great-Grandma Nelson

We got to see Great-Grandma and some of the other Nelson relatives over Thanksgiving. Here is Lewis and my cousin Brandie's daughter, Katelyn (that may be a total mispelling of her name). Lewis is currently the youngest great-grandchild, and there are one or two between him and Katelyn in age. I have a hard time remembering. With 18 Nelson grandkids, many of whom are having their own kids, it is so hard to keep track.

In the Lane, Snow is Glistening...

The first snow. My boys were so excited they could hardly contain themselves. I love the first snow too. It's the freezing cold, super-snowy month of February that I don't like so much. Here's Carter shoveling the street of all things.
All the neighbor kids were out for a couple hours after school, sledding, throwing snowballs and shoveling. The boy in the foreground moved here from Baton Rouge this summer. When he got off the school bus he yelled, "Oh my gosh! It's a winter wonderland!"
Nothing like jumping on a snow covered trampoline with your goggles on. It was probably their last jump until spring since it's coming down this weekend.

9 Fabulous Years

Hard to believe it's been nine years since we exchanged vows. On our November 21 wedding day it was a whopping 60 degrees, not 28 and snowy like it is today! I showed our wedding picture to one of the youth group girls a year or two ago and she said, "That looks just like you, only a lot lot younger." (Thanks for that!)

Weighing In

Mr. Lewis weighed in at 18 lbs. 8 oz. at his 6 month check-up and measured 27 inches long. He is a full pound + heavier than the other boys were at his age. There is a reason one of his nicknames is chunky monkey.

One Twisty-tie, Two boys and Some Soap

After listening to my boys giggling hysterically in their bathroom for several minutes, I decided I'd better go assess the damage. What I found was both of them up on their countertop blowing bubbles through a plastic twisty-tie with a soap and water mixture they made themselves. I was so impressed by their creativity, that I didn't make them get down and clean up. But, everyone knows all good things must come to an end, and the following two pictures show just how this play time came to a halt. Soap and water all over the tile. Oh well, the floor needed a good cleaning anyway.

C is for Cookie

Here's a boy after his dad's own heart!!

Weekend in Fremont

We spent the weekend in Fremont at Grandma and Grandpa Harms' house. The big boys got to spend Saturday with playing with cousin Amina. The weather was so gorgeous Grandpa took them all to the park for a couple hours. Lewis had fun jumping in the doorway jumper and watching all the action around him. We had a nice time just relaxing. It was a good weekend for Corey to relax after spraining his ankle playing basketball on Friday!

You Make Me Wanna JUMP

Lewis has figured out the doorway jumper and is having a good time with it!

My New Toy

We (I should say I, because Corey won't use it) got Photoshop Elements this weekend, so I have been playing around with it. I can be really creative or just use the layouts they have in the progam. My boys would say its su-weet! I can do such fun stuff with my photos. Mom, you are going to get a much cooler calendar this year!!
