Check out those muscles!

The boys had a ball trick-or-treating. We walked around with some friends from down the street and ended up with candy galore! Carter and his friend, Lucas (the Human Torch), were literally running from house to house. Owen tried to keep up and poor little Logan (Wolverine) was left in the dust, but they all had fun. I wish I would have thought to get a picture of all four of them together.
Here's the boys wrestling before hitting the streets. Unfortunately, Lewis missed out on all the fun. After a long crazy day of being hauled here and there and having two babysitters, he decided trick-or-treat time would be a good time to snooze! My converation with Owen this morning. "Would you like some waffles for breakfast?" (He has waffles almost every day.) "No, I'll just eat this." Candy before 8 a.m. is okay the day after trick-or-treating, right?

Kindergarten Halloween Party

I helped out at Carter's Halloween party at school yesterday. The whole school gets to dress up in their costumes and parade through Slater's main street trick-or-treating at the businesses. It was quite the experience. The picture below is Carter's kindergarten class.

Where the Sidewalk Ends

Notice all the neighborhood "wheels" parked at the end of our sidewalk and the boys playing beyond in the empty lot. How sad they will all be when one of their favorite places to play is replaced by a house. These guys are building houses and roads and plantations out of sand, rock, broken blocks and dirt.

Hangin' Out

This is how I found Lewis when I checked on him before bed last night. He must have been super-tired to fall asleep like this without a lot of crying. Not only are his legs hanging out the slats, but he is on his tummy and he rarely sleeps on his tummy.

3 Boys 3 Pumpkins

If you read my previous blog, you know that I took a million pictures today. As you can see by this photo, it was one too many for Baby Lewis.

A Day In The Life

Some days I take about a million pictures. Today was one of those days.
Lucky you.
There is nothing quite as perfect as a sleeping baby.
(Especially my sleeping baby, I'm slightly biased.)
My lower lip sure tastes good.
"Mom, he's spitting up again!" This photo may be a little gross, but cleaning up after Mister Spitty is a big part of my day. He has not surpassed his oldest brother in the spit department yet, though.
"What's all this yellow stuff on your head? It sure is fun to grab!"

Gotta Love Those Cheeks

Lewis has got the most kissable cheeks of any of my boys.
It looks like he's storing food for the winter inside.

From Pumpkin to Jack-O-Lantern

Grandma did the dirty work. (She's a better sport than I am.)
Uncle Keith carved a scary face while...
the boys drew some scary faces with Aunt Tomi.

Playing with Grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa Nelson visited this weekend. After a week of rain, Saturday was beautiful, and the boys spent most of the day outside.

It happened again

Yes that is a sock, and no I did not put it there. He pulled it off his foot all by himself and went straight to his mouth with it.

I can't believe how much he looks like...

Carter James

Owen Micheal

Lewis Paul

This blog is for all of you who have told me that Lewis looks just like Owen. I'm glad that people see Owen in there somewhere, but when I look at my baby, I see Baby Carter. They may not be identical, but man they sure are brothers. They are very similar in looks and personality (and their ability to projectile their formula seconds after finishing a bottle).
I think I may have discovered one area that Lewis and Owen are alike. Anyone who knew Owen when he was a baby and toddler will appreciate the fact that today I saw Lewis pull off his sock, and procede to cuddle it up to his mouth while he chewed on his fingers. We'll see if it was a fluke or if it's going to be a trend!

HULK SMASH

Bruce Banner has a little competition thanks to Grandma Nelson's seamstress skills.

Grace Family Retreat

We went camping at Hidden Acres with some friends on Thursday night, and then were joined by a bunch of families from our church on Friday night for a family retreat. We all had a great time.

Lewis was not lacking in the attention department. He handled getting passed around pretty well. He is such a happy baby. Here is our pastor's son Andrew with him.

Both big boys enjoyed the hot tub. They spent some time in the pool too, but decided it was a little chilly (Plus I forgot their goggles and they prefer swimming with them. It is unbelievable all the things you have to pack for a two night camping trip! At least I remembered the swimsuits.)

Corey and Mara led campfire worship Friday night.
Corey was also the king of the paintball course. Unfortunately, I forgot to take my camera along to the course and didn't get a pic of him decked out in his army camo.

Where's the Fire?

Baby Abigail

Our friends had a baby girl yesterday. Abigail Faith Casciato. I got to hold her last night, and she is perfect. It is unbelievable that Lewis was that size just 5 months ago. Now he's my little chunky monkey with cheeks that look like they might burst when he smiles. Wow, they grow fast!! Gabe and Wendy now have two little girls, and I am totally okay with pre-arranged marriages, (smile), so they just need to have one more and our boys will be set!

Big Bro Little Bro

Lewis looks like such a big boy sitting in his pod.
His brothers love to try to make him laugh while he sits and watches them.

Carter and Owen used to hold Lewis a lot more than they do now. I guess the "newness" has worn off. But they still like their baby time now and then.

It's not quite the great pumpkin...

Owen, Lewis and I got out our rain slickers (actually I don't have one but it would have been handy) and went on a field trip with his preschool class to the pumpkin patch and apple orchard. The pumpkin he is standing by is the one he picked. He had his choice of any in the patch, and some were fairly big, but he chose this small lumpy one, because it was the coolest. It made me think of Charlie Brown and his poor little Christmas tree.
We got nice and wet for the first 1/2 hour as it rained down on us. It was a warm, pleasant rain, but it was definitely wet. Notice how wet Lewis' shirt is. That is not from the rain. If his mouth didn't double as a water fountain, he would have been completely dry under the cover of his stroller. Owen had a lot of fun at the beginning, but by the end he was ready to go. Mr. Grumpster wouldn't even look at the camera for a picture.

Who Needs Toys?

Who needs toys when you've got feet? These things have been attached to my legs since the beginning. I can't believe it took me more than 4 months to figure out how fun they are.

Roll Baby Roll

Lewis has been rolling for a few weeks now. When we put him on his back, he almost immediately rolls to his tummy. Here is a little footage of his new ability. Carter starts giggling like crazy because Lewis tooted (but I don't think it is audible in the video.) Boys of all ages seem to find that hilarious.
