I'm Leavin' On a Jet Plane...

Owen misses his big brother like crazy when he is at school. I guess I'm just not as much fun as Carter. I am continually trying to think of things to do to keep him occupied. Yesterday, we made a jet plane out of a box and some tape. All three boys are ready to fly away in the picture. They are probably headed to Hawaii, since that is where Owen seems to think all planes go.

Snow, Snow GO AWAY!!

This was the view of our backyard this afternoon. SNOW! It's so pretty in December. It's expected in January. It's tolerated in February. It's a nuisance in March. It is depressing in April. Bring on the sunshine and spring temps. My boys and I are more than ready!

Preach It Brother

He sure knows what he's talking about, but I haven't got a clue.

Nebraska Waterpark Adventure

We just spent a few days in Nebraska with Corey's family. Cousins, Garrett and Ian, were visiting from Indiana, so the boys had a ball! Grandpa and Grandma got us all tickets to an indoor waterpark in Omaha, and it was money well spent. After a cold rainy Thursday being cooped up in the house, swimming on Friday was a great treat.
Carter and Garrett had fun crossing the pool on these floating platform things.

Owen is somewhere under this waterfall.

Lewis had fun splashing in the baby pool.

Carter and Garrett are heading up the stairs to go down the slide.

Transformer Heaven

Owen's 5-year-old life revolves around transformers, so his birthday "theme" was a no-brainer. I attempted to draw the Autobot insignia on his cake. It wasn't perfect, but Owen was happy with it, so that's all that matters.

Owen opened each of his 5 transformers gifts with just as much excitement as the one before. Now I am learning how to transform Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Jazz, Brawl and Arcee. The boys have them all figured out after a "Transformer Workshop" with Daddy. Owen sleeps with his Beloved Bumblebee most nights, and he lets Carter sleep with one of the other ones. Who needs teddy bears or blankies?

A little Transformer Trivia: True or False - There are girl Transformers. TRUE. The purple and black motorcycle Arcee is actually a female. The boys were the first to figure this out. She comes complete with a stylish haircut (can a robot have a stylish haircut?) and high heels.

Eat Dirt

If it's on the floor, this one is going to eat it. I've discovered that stickers make it through the digestive system intact. We'll see what dirtballs do. He's eaten three today. Darn those muddy big boy boots!

Out of the Mouths of Babes

On the way to my folks over spring break, Carter randomly asked me, "Mom, why didn't Jesus have any girlfriends?" It amazes me how the wheels spin in his head. It was a great opportunity to talk to him again about God's purpose in sending his son to earth. To talk about his death and resurrection and why it was so important. And it was a great conversation to have just before Easter weekend. My boys had a great time hunting for eggs and eating candy, but I hope that they will grow more and more in understanding of the AWESOMENESS of the holiday, and what it means to and for them.

Hope you had a great Easter Weekend!
