It's not quite the great pumpkin...

Owen, Lewis and I got out our rain slickers (actually I don't have one but it would have been handy) and went on a field trip with his preschool class to the pumpkin patch and apple orchard. The pumpkin he is standing by is the one he picked. He had his choice of any in the patch, and some were fairly big, but he chose this small lumpy one, because it was the coolest. It made me think of Charlie Brown and his poor little Christmas tree.
We got nice and wet for the first 1/2 hour as it rained down on us. It was a warm, pleasant rain, but it was definitely wet. Notice how wet Lewis' shirt is. That is not from the rain. If his mouth didn't double as a water fountain, he would have been completely dry under the cover of his stroller. Owen had a lot of fun at the beginning, but by the end he was ready to go. Mr. Grumpster wouldn't even look at the camera for a picture.
