Living History Farms

The boys and I had a great time at Living History Farms today. I don't think they realized how educational it was or they may not have claimed to like it as much as they did. The newspaper was my favorite. Loved watching how they set the print by hand. It made me appreciate my computer and printer.

The boys played checkers at the Tangen house and the Flynn Mansion, but they said their favorite place was the Blacksmith Shop.

They were put to work sawing wood on the 1850s farm.

Lewis liked the cat at the 1900 farmhouse.

How fun and a bit strange to see sewing machines just like the ones we used in Haiti.

Grinding some cinnamon

Fainting on the fainting couch.

Me and my crew in front of the 1850s farm. The boys and I have been reading Laura Ingalls Wilder's Farmer Boy, and I think Living History Farms made some parts of the book come to life for them. I'd say it was money well spent.
